Former Rice TE Cole Hunt transfers to TCU

You may recognize the last name, that’s right Cole is the younger brother of former TCU center Joey. Cole decided to come to TCU from Rice, where he graduated in just three years. He will not have to sit out because he is a graduate transfer and like LSU transfer John Diarse, he will have two years of eligibility remaining.

Cole played in 25 games over the past two seasons at Rice, starting 14 games. He caught 13 passes for 118 yards and one touchdown. He comes to TCU at the right time, given TCU only has three other tight end’s listed on the depth chart and one, Artayvious Lynn is an incoming freshman. Cole adds more size to the position as well standing 6’7” and weighing 250 pounds and could be a factor in the red-zone. I would expect him to be a instant impact player on special teams as well, having been a stud defensive end in high school. Remember, Joey came to TCU as a defensive tackle and moved to center in fall camp.

Hunt jumps right into the mix for playing time at tight end with the aforementioned Artayvious Lynn, Charlie Reid and Cole Novak. Should be some good battles in fall camp here in the next few weeks.
